Offline friends know that I regard "The Wire" as the greatest show on television. Like "The Sopranos," which it displaces (although Tony & co. made an impressive comeback there at the end), it's not so much a TV show as a very long movie, and one more affecting than most actual feature films.

But I'm not above seeing this brilliant series reduced to a joke:

Before I saw this video, I considered the wire to be the best drama on television (and best show in general). Ironically, I now find it to be the best comedy as well.
Actually, again like "Sopranos," "Wire" is one of the funniest non-comedy programs I've ever seen.

If I was a member of Amazon's affiliate marketing program, this is where I'd include a link to buy DVDs of the show. But since I am not, you'll have to go buy them and send me a few pennies on your own.
